I've heard that the 2nd issue could be caused by issues with permissions and tried to address that with: But upon rebooting, the Mac may launch apps and open windows from a session from a few weeks ago even though these apps are set to NOT open on login and the Mac is told NOT to reopen windows that were open. Upon rebooting, these app settings and ethernet connection are restored (it may require 2 reboots in a row).
